Nominated by Billboard Philippines, Sarah Geronimo is set to receive the award in the said globally recognized event on March 6 (Pacific Standard Time) at the YouTube Theater. She is making history as the first Filipina to receive such prestigious award.
Billboard‘s Women In Music is an annual awards show that honors the most influential women in the music industry. It recognizes female rising artists, creators, producers and executives for their contributions to the music industry and community.
Sarah is going to be given the Global Force award along with Brazilian singer-songwriter Luísa Sonza and Italian artist Annalisa. The three ladies are the first set of awardees of Global Force which is going to be introduced this year as part of the Women In Music awards ceremony.
The Philippine Pop Royalty was chosen for being “an artist that has carved out a place in the industry that’s distinctly hers and continuously blazed a trail for young women and aspiring artists” as per Billboard Philippines.
